The Press Club has been reinvented as a casual Greek restaurant
Strapping a casual eatery onto your restaurant has been the craze of the year. Guy Grossi added salumi and wine bar Ombra to Grossi Florentino in December; Stokehouse has sprouted an all-day diner downstairs, and now George Calombaris is joining the game. He's stripped back the main part of the Press Club, strung up a whole lot of terracotta plant pots, and will reopen the venue this Friday as a low-key Greek eatery: Gazi.
We're expecting good things. Calombaris does simple Greek pretty damn well (Hellenic Republic is still our favourite of the Made Establishment stable), and so we're pretty excited to get our fists around a Gazi kebab. They've got big plans for cocktails too.
Walk-ins are welcome, but you can book (huzzah!) if you'd rather not chance it.
