There’s something to be said for going out for a quality scotch and having the option of an outstanding Hopkins River Beef steak on hand
You’ll find a Bob’s Steak and Chop House in Arizona, California and quite a few in Texas. It’s a time-honoured formula of a myriad of cuts of great steak, with your choice of sauces and potato-treatment and a bunch of other classics. In a move away from tradition, Bob’s Melbourne has erected The Deck@Bob’s, where you can take advantage of Bob’s extensive wine, spirits and cocktail list in the relaxed setting of Bob’s glassed-in pods.
Serving up local legends The West Winds Gin alongside aged scotches from far away and a fantastic array of local and international wines, shown off in a cellar-cum-doorway, Bob’s is a congenial, tidy space to while away a few hours with your mates.
Frequented by business-types from the local hotels, Bob’s is likely to entice local residents and worker bees for an after work drink with slick service and plenty of space. If you position yourself correctly you’ll even be able to see the TV screens, and if that’s not your thing there’s talk of the kitchen coming to the outdoors for a bit of al-fresco cookin’, or you could talk to the person in front of you. Crazy.
It’s a steak (okay and chop) house, so inside there’s a touch of the testosterones about the deep brown wooden finishes, leather booths and a selection of cigars, but it’s just as friendly for the ladies.
Not to mention there’s something to be said for going out for a quality scotch and having the option of an outstanding Hopkins River Beef steak on hand.
