The Cycle Shop is a pop-up collaboration between Country Road and Collingwood cycle boutique Tokyo Bike. Think tailored chinos with stretchier fabric, flexible puffer vests and minimalist lace-ups. The Fitzroy designer craft emporium has a new southern sister. A Camille Walala mural adorns the outer facade, and within, you'll find plenty of artisan gifts, design wares and handcrafted goods. The ever-expanding op shop empire has added a king-size eastern outpost. It's as large as a department store and offers women's, men's and children's clothing, homewares, books and countless other knick-knacks at tantalisingly low prices. Ringwood, now open.
Inspired by youth culture and street attitude, this thoroughly Australian brand has collaborated with photographer Peter Coulson and Australian skater Renton Millar. Deep in the rave-tastic basement of the Liberty Social is the newly created Distal Phalanx: a boutique featuring underground, independent designers from Melbourne and around the world. Peruse left-field creations from Japanese artists iLiL as well as M.Y.O.B – creators of chunky statement jewellery. Other designer include Cami XXX, MEAT, Maria Ke Fisherman, Julian Zigerli and KTZ.
