A relative newcomer to the vinyl party, this modest store is creating waves amongst those pedantic purveyors of the north. With a notable predilection towards supporting local artists – Fourteen Nights At Sea and Royal Headache to name a few – Ritual really spans the full spectrum of musical genres, throwing up folk, black metal, indie, jazz, post hardcore, and shoegaze. As the name would suggest, they also have on hand a wealth of reading material, and not just of the musical variety – here you’ll find new-age vegan-lit nestled betwixt zine collections and activist tomes. Not bad for a store still in its maiden year. Go forth, go north, and dig.
