Deep in the rave-tastic basement of The Liberty Social is the newly created Distal Phalanx – a store featuring underground, independent designers from Melbourne and around the world. Peruse left-field creations from Japanese artists iLiL and M.Y.O.B – creators of chunky statement jewellery – as well as a selection of pieces from designers including MEAT, Maria Ke Fisherman, Julian Zigerli and KTZ. Some of these designers are exclusively stocked in Australia by Distal Phalanx. Melbourne duo Di$count Universe will feature their latest collection, and Cami XXX – who is one half of the pair – will display her range of one-off backpacks which are developing a cult following. Merchandise from local artists HTRK, Forces and White Hex are also be available. Other designers include Daniel Palillo, HAZZ, Roberto Piqueras and Mainframe.
