Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre

A multi-purpose sports venues for professionals and amateurs alike

First published on . Updated on .

Opened in 1997, this $65 million development was built on the site of several outdated sports arenas and hosted events from the 2006 Commonwealth Games events and 2007 FINA Swimming Championship meets.

Today, it hosts everything from swim carnivals and basketball tournaments and features a Wellness area (Level 3) with a hydrotherapy pool and two yoga and pilates studios. The MSAC's newest addition is a 50metre outdoor pool built in 2006 and updated in 2008 to include a world-first moveable floor.
