Time Out Melbourne

Neighbourhood Watch

This event has finished

A big hit in Sydney when it premiered at Belvoir in 2011, Neighbourhood Watch is actually set in Melbourne, in Kew, just down the street from where playwright Lally Katz used to live

It's about the octogenarian Ana, her German Shepherd Bella, and a twenty-something neighbour called Catherine. In a series of artfully described reminiscences, Ana introduces her young companion ‑ Catherine, not Bella ‑ to a world of hardship and violence: the war-torn Hungary of Ana's youth.

Director Simon Stone reunites with Robyn Nevin as Ana, Charlie Garber, Megan Holloway and Kris McQuade.
