Everynight, Everynight, written in 1978, is based on the true story of how Christopher Dale Flannery was transformed from a young thug into an infamous sociopathic killer
When playwright Ray Mooney first met Christopher Dale Flannery he was still just "Dale", and hadn't yet earned his better-known moniker, "Mr. Rent-A-Kill". Everynight, Everynight is based on Mooney’s first-hand experiences inside Pentridge Prison, where he at one point shared a cell with Flannery. It brings to light the “daily carnival of violence” that was life in the notorious ‘H’ Division (High security, ‘discipline and protection’), and show how the dehumanising conditions of the prison transformed a delinquent into an assassin.
