Short+Sweet Festival 2012

With the motto “keep it brief”, Short + Sweet Festival has assembled writers, directors, choreographers and performers, both emerging and established, and given them just ten minutes in which to shine.

With performances across theatre, dance and cabaret, this is the first year all three disciplines have been combined to create an arts experience of epic proportions that will see up to 50 new works performed over three weeks.

The melancholic comedy of the Dig Collective, winners of both best overall production and people’s choice awards in 2011, aim to continue their winning streak with a reworking of their production DIG. If cabaret’s more your style then the voluptuous offerings of Ruby Delicious and the Afternoon Delights won’t disappoint.

Alternatively, if you want to skip to the best of the best, attend the Variety Gala on December 9, which will showcase the three best overall performances from all three genres. So get your stopwatch at the ready because anything can happen in ten minutes...
