This biennial festival of dance will play host to a number of emerging and established international and Australian artists presenting both new and revised works. Still reeling from the success of An Act of Now presented at the Melbourne Fringe Festival, Anouk van Dijk of innovative dance collective Chunky Move return with their world premiere of 247 Days, a performance that strives to question individuality within the context of the changing Australian landscape.
Another one to watch out for isGu:t, described as ‘a contemporary ritual in process’ the performance acts as a meeting point between Korean and Torres Strait Islander communities in ritualistic celebration of their grandmothers. For the more adventurous (but not asthmatic) become engulfed in smoke in Ashley Dyer’s Life Support, which uses smoke as a medium to explore disappearance, climate change and the simple act of caring.
With so many exciting performances it will be hard to pick and choose what to spend your pennies on, luckily for you, if you purchase three or more tickets between now and January 27th then you will receive 20% discount. Happy booking!
