A theatre company that roves through the west

The Dog Theatre is an independent theatre company and one of the first site-specific venues in Melbourne. This means that almost anywhere you want to perform, the Dog Theatre can make it happen. Both their seating banks and technical equipment are transportable, so that if an area is accessible by truck, it can be a potential performance venue.

The concept of a roving theatre company in Melbourne’s Western suburbs evolved from artistic director Peta Hanrahan's belief that a production should be performed within the culture and architecture of the story it is telling. The company shows everything from comedy to the classics and are involved in supporting the Melbourne arts community.
