The world’s most vibrant 5k race is coming to Perth

Inspired by the Hindu festival Holi, where it is tradition to throw natural coloured powders as the seasons change from winter to spring, the Color Run (which started life in the US, hence the spelling) is coming to Australia.
The vibrant and lively race has run through 30 cities in the US over the past year, and looking at its Facebook page for Australia it’ll be very popular here too. Even if you're not an athlete, the Color Run is something you should sign up for, just for fun. At the start of the race, each runner wears white and as they pass each kilometre marker they are blasted with a different colour of (completely harmless) paint.
All proceeds go to charity, and once you’ve reached the finish line you're invited to hang around for the after party. Perth’s event will take place in February 2013.
