Crave Sydney International Food Festival is an annual celebration of Sydney's cultural and outdoor lifestyle that takes place throughout October. Locals will get the opportunity to take in parts of the city they've never seen before, while tourists will feel at home in an international city full of great experiences.
There are multiple events as part of Crave Sydney International Food Festival: some established, others brand new and some free. Whether it's breakfast on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, discovering art in unusual nooks and crannies, or travelling to islands not usually open to the public, make sure you get outside for some October fun.
Art & About
Innovative and stimulating art will enliven laneways, parks, galleries and spaces across the city. Check out public photography of Sydney Life in Hyde Park, laneway art installations in the city and in Surry Hills, a construction site has become an artwork.
Breakfast on the Bridge
Six thousand lucky people will get the opportunity to participate in Sydney's big picnic breakfast on Sydney Harbour Bridge. Munch on vegemite toast whilst watching the sun rise over the glittering Sydney Harbour.
Seven Bridges Walk
This community walk will circle Sydney's Harbour clockwise from the Sydney Harbour Bridge through the bays of the Inner West, over the Parramatta River, through Lane Cove and across the Lower North Shore. Walkers can start at any of the seven villages and finish where they want at a time that suits between 8am and 5pm. It's not a race, so you can amble and meander your way through the seven villages (Milsons Point, The Rocks, Pyrmont, Rozelle, Hunters Hill, Lane Cove and Wollstonecraft) where there will be food, entertainment and live music. Free event buses and ferries will return participants to designated start locations throughout the course. Get fit and raise funds for four of Australia's leading charities - beyondblue, The Heart Foundation NSW, Diabetes Australia NSW and the Cancer Council.
Sydney Harbour Island Hopping
Hop aboard the Hopper ferry and visit Fort Denison, Shark Island, Clark Island and Garden Island, all in one day. Tour guides will regale you historical facts and stories. Historical Fort Denison will celebrate fine food; Shark Island will be transformed into a fantasy island. Explore indigenous art and culture on Clark Island; and discover Garden Island's naval history and beautiful gardens.
Sydney International Food Festival
The Sydney International Food Festival will see the best chefs from Australia and across the globe bringing their fare to Sydney in a range of tempting ways. Featuring a lip-smacking menu of events all over the city, there's bound to be something that will get your tummy rumbling.
World's Funniest Island
World's Funniest Island brings some of the world's funniest people together for a weekend of laughs in a breathtaking location - Cockatoo Island. A two-day ticket to this event will grant you access to 200 shows in 18 venues.
