For some time now the staff of Time Out have been weighing up 1950s outfit options. In August the attire will finally have its day in the sun when we time warp our way up to Wahroonga's Rose Seidler House. We suggest you follow (teddy boy) suit and don a poodle skirt or letter jacket and get ready to celebrate the bygone era at this year's Fifties Fair.

There's a full day of retro fun in store, including live music, vintage motor displays, a best dressed competition, clothes stalls and Americana grub that's sure to push the limits of your Sandra Dee slim-fit pants.

Before you leave, tour beautiful Rose Seidler House – it's an open-plan, minimalist masterpiece and the perfect setting for a party of this kind.
