Surry Hills Festival is set to return to its spiritual home at Prince Alfred Park this year, which means even more live music, sustainable food, kids activities and market stalls will be be squeezed onto the programme.

On the festival main stage, indie outfit Tijuana Cartel will take you round the world in one set as they fuse Afro Cuban, flamenco and UK club scene sounds. They'll be joined by pop-rockers Fire! Santa Rosa, Fire!, quick-spitting MC the Tongue and up-and-comers Nantes, True Vibenations, the Liberators and Mojo Juju.

Keeping things shaking on a seperate dance stage, Softwar and Slow Blow will be dishing out shoulder shimmying disco tracks alongside lady DJ of the moment Alison Wonderland and the boys from Canyons in record-slinging mode.

You can also take a break from the sure-to-be-heaving music stages for a little acoustic folk in the pillow-lined Chai Temple, or rest up with a cold one at one of many outdoor pop-up bars.

Some of the 2010 postcode's most beloved boutiques will also be going alfresco in market stall mode, and local artists will be producing art installations for the space in the lead-up to the festival.

One of the most popular features of the festival, the Dog Show, also returns this year. Furry friends of all shapes and sizes will participate in competition categories including Skills and Tricks, Paparazzi Pooches, a Fancy Dress Parade, Best Child and Doggie Duo, and the grand Best in Show prize. Woof woof!
