Time Out Sydney

This event has finished

Reclaim the name and walk with pride!

Coinciding with, and supported by, Camp Betty 2011, the Sydney SlutWalk stands in solidarity with Toronto (and other cities internationally) against victim blaming and slut shaming.

SlutWalk has become a global phenomenon and began as a protest against a statement made by a representative of the Toronto Police who said that “women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized”. The walk aims to spread the message that those those who experience sexual assault are never the ones at fault.

Attendees are encouraged to meet at Town Hall Sydney from 1.30pm for a 2pm start, and will then proceed to the District Court and then onto Harmony Park in Surry Hills.
