Vibewire puts on a killer talks event before most people have had their morning coffee

Get ready to take Fridays by storm. Once a month the Powerhouse Museum opens its doors early so that the crew from Black Star Pastry can lay down the goods for a seriously sweet power breakfast. FastBREAK gives five young industry leaders the floor and five minutes to respond to a theme. In March, for example, speakers will respond to ‘Play’, and in April the talent will riff on ‘Rage’.

Said talent is diverse too, with past speakers including New Matilda’s Catriona Menzies-Pike, paper artist Benja Harney (who has just been announced as one of the key speakers for Semi-Permanent 2012), and Juliette Anich, director at the Clothing Exchange.

As well as being interesting and inspiring – and a helluva way to kickstart the final morning of a long week – FastBREAK is a great opportunity to network and collaborate with people both within and outside of your professional field. And with entry at just $10, including coffee and breakfast, we wish we could start every morning with a healthy serve of FastBREAK.
