Sydney’s iconic The Australian Hotel in The Rocks will once again be holding Anzac Day celebrations on Wednesday April 25.

The city’s largest 2-up stage kicks into gear at midday and this year the whole of Gloucester Street will be closed to ensure more room for viewers and participants. For those unlucky tossers who through up a double heads or tail into the ring, there’s also ample room on stage for them to rack up a few push ups as punishment!

To entertain the crowd and help remember the Anzac men and women, The Scots Old Boys Pipe Band will march up and down Cumberland Street playing ‘Waltzing Matilda’.

The Australian will be serving up their famous pizzas and why not get in to the spirit of things by trying a Croc, Roo or Vegemite and Cheese pizza? There’s even a BBQ tent and some good old fashion meat pies to accommodate those taste buds.

Situated in the heart of The Rocks, The Australian Hotel has taken out many awards in its day like Best Boutique Beer Offering, Best Beer Venue in Australia and Best Heritage Hotel and with over 120 different beers to choose from it’s easy to see why.

With great food, drink, live entertainment plus ‘The Last Post’ being played at 6pm, there are plenty of reasons to head down to The Australian and celebrate Anzac Day.
