A divisive issue, a heated debate
Satisfy your appetite for passionate and lively debate as some of Australia's most articulate minds take on one of the most divisive issues of today. And we can pretty much guarantee this one's going to be good.
Speaking for the legalisation of same sex marriage is Lord Mayor of Sydney Clover Moore, an advocate of social justice and the first Member of the Legislative Assembly to march in the Sydney Mardi Gras Parade. She'll be joined by Mark Textor, leading Australian opinion pollster and campaign strategist who advised John Howard in his mid-'90s bid for re-election, who also openly supports gay rights.
In the blue corner, speaking against legalisation, is Professor Nick Tonti-Filippini, Associate Dean and Dean of Bio-Ethics at the John Paul II Institute for Marriage and Family, with Professor Annamarie Jagose of the University of Sydney, who is published widely in the area of feminist studies.
Chairing the whole affair is Dr Simon Longstaff, who has a freakin' PhD in Philosophy from freakin' Cambridge.
Grab a ticket for your chance to sit in on some riveting debate and even make your own contribution.
