Go fly a kite! Bondi Beach's family-friendly festival makes the most of sea breezes with this sky-high parade

After a day at Bondi Beach's dazzling kite-flying Festival of the Winds on Sun Sep 13, you'll be able to tell your fighters from your boxes and deltas. For those not learned in the language of kite flying, bring along your own creation and get answers from pros who travel from near and far for this annual spring tradition. Local and international kite-flyers will be showing off their skills and handmade creations from 11am, with a colourful parade of cartoon characters, animals, flowers and other sky-high creatures.

If you haven't brought along a kite, take part in a kite-making workshop and fly your new creation with pride. When you need a break from practising, there'll be plenty of other entertainment, including food stalls, an art exhibition in the Bondi Pavilion Gallery, kids' rides, puppet shows, demonstrations, and dance workshops.
