Sydney Fashion Week (27 Apr-1 May) is the hot ticket and one of the most glamorous events of the year. The whirlwind of Champagne and silk is also only available to models, designers or lucky people in the media. Showcasing designers both local and international, it’s the event that shapes the way many of us will be dressing over the coming seasons. While for most of us it’s an impossible dream (and what the hell would you wear to such a thing? It’d require a whole new wardrobe), there’s now Sydney Fashion Weekend, which happens a couple of weeks after the big event. From 14-17 May at the Royal Hall of Industries in Moore Park, you’ll have the chance to experience a taste of the fashion world. For one fabulous weekend you’ll find deals of up to 70 per cent off designer clothes at the Shop Til You Drop event, and watch catwalk shows by Alex Perry, Nicola Finetti and more. Tired of shopping? Beauty brands including Burt’s Bees (the makers of the hottest lip balm at the moment), Dermalogica (the king of facial cleansers) and ghd (hair straighteners to the stars) will be there revamping your look to match your new wardrobe. Finally, get your picture on a stunt cover of Shop mag as a take home souvenir.
