I woke up in... Neutral Bay

Waking up in this northside 'burb spells more than just a nice view of the harbour

01 Maisy's
No matter what time you crawl out of bed, Maisy’s will be open. This 24-hour café is one of the few in Sydney where you can satisfy your 3am cravings for eggs Benedict and has a comprehensive breakfast and lunch menu available all day and night.

02 Traffic Jam
The aptly named Traffic Jam gallery provides a pleasant distraction for drivers on their daily commute to and from the North Shore. Making the most of its position at the oft-congested intersection at the head of Military Road, the gallery is hard to miss with window displays filled with bright, eye-catching works from interstate and international artists, and is worth a pitstop on any Neutral Bay walk of shame. 41 Military Rd, Neutral Bay 2089 (02 9953 3834). Mon-Sun 10am-6pm.

03 White Hart
Forgot your toothbrush? This bar makes dental hygiene a cocktail-hour activity with their Breakfast Mojito (it includes Mojito-flavoured toothpaste and brush). The bar approaches cocktails with flair and imagination: some are practically science experiments, others are a bit of fun, and each one is unique. The Smokin’ Tiki Punch, for example, bubbles over with dry ice and looks like a prop from an Indiana Jones film.
