The Sydney Opera House has lots of great options to celebrate Mother's Day
Those beautiful white sails have got a lot of seriously solid Mother’s Day options on offer this year. There’s the Babies Proms Music for Tutus concert, the Australian Ballet’s production of Onegin, dramatic soprano Deborah Voigt singing Wagner and Strauss, Bell Shakespeare’s sexed-up production of Macbeth and the Sydney Symphony’s Carnevale with guest artist Andreas Haefliger, to name just a few. But, more importantly, the ’House has also lined up a really awesome prize for the lucky mother of one Time Out Sydney reader.
Said mum will be given tickets to a year’s worth of Sydney Opera House performances – 12 all up, and two tickets per show.
Mum will also be treated to a night at the Sydney Opera House platinum partner hotel of her choice (Amora Hotel Jamison, Radisson Blu, Sir Stamford Circular Quay or Four Points), with a Range Rover pick-up and return from the theatre and interval drinks for her and her guest.
The winner will also be able to go on a guided tour of Jørn Utzon’s architectural marvel, the Sydney Opera House, with their mum, and take her for a pre-theatre meal at their pick of the area’s restaurants – Aria, Café Sydney or Guillaume at Bennelong.
To cap it off, mum will also be given a $2,000 Westfield shopping voucher to get her prepped and dressed for all that theatre-going.
Phew! We think you should head on over to competitions page and enter this behemoth of a competition stat.
And while you’re cruising the net, swing by the Sydney Opera House's Mother's Day site for loads of great Opera House gift ideas including an Insiders Membership that will allow mum to jump booking queues, avoid booking fees and more.
Go on: she deserves it.
