Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival

Sydney

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival returns to Sydney for the second year running. The five-day event will bring runway style straight to the consumer with live catwalk shows that showcase the SS12/13 trends. The festival includes a VIP star lounge, located in the festival hub at Sydney Town Hall, and an opportunity for fashion-lovers to star in their very own Lara Stone-inspired photo shoot. Mercedes-Benz will hit the streets around Pitt Street Mall to look for the most inspiring street style each day of the festival, and the Trends Show will feature key pieces from Australia's top designers, including Ksubi, Alice McCall, Camilla, Johnston, Manning Cartell, Oroton and many more.

Fashion Lay Waste

Sydney

The annual Fashion Lay Waste competition, which encourages a more sustainable fashion industry, is back for adults and high school students alike. This year's fashion design competition is inspired by the Australian Museum's Deep Oceans exhibition, and winning entries will be on display at the Strand Arcade during August.

Fashion vs Music

Sydney

Board the Star Ship at King Street Wharf with top Sydney models and designers, Australian DJs, a sax player, a bongo player, a beautiful singer and a classy black and white dress code. Designers include 2Shae, Jatine, Achea Mpong by Mutesi, Three Floor, We Are Handsome, Three Over One and Humour.

Artisans of Fashion

Sydney

Artisans of Fashion aims to build long term and sustainable growth opportunities for communities in India with the support of leading Australian designers. The not-for-profit global initiative showcases the use of handcrafted textiles, beading and embroidery in designer fashion, and the heritage and skills behind each craft. From August 15 to the end of September, the Strand Arcade will provide a series of shopping events supporting artisan techniques and quality craftsmanship, with brands like Lover, Alex Perry, Akira Isogawa, Manning Cartell, Ms Couture and Anaessia all contributing.
