With over 250 stalls setting up each week, these markets give a leg up to plenty of local up-and-coming designers. And it’s a great warm-up for a shopping day on the Oxford Street strip. Every Sat, 10am–5pm. FREE.
Pyrmont Growers Markets
This is the market for keen followers of the slow food movement. Each stall is marked with signs detailing exactly how far the produce has travelled. First Sat of the month, 7–11am. FREE.
100 Squared
Sitting smack bang in the middle of Westfield Sydney, this space features 11 emerging designers that have caught founder Justin Levy’s eye. And he knows how to pick them: two designers – Christopher Dobosz and Mok Theorem – showed at RAFW in 2011. Mon–Sat 9.30am–6.30pm; Thu 9.30am–9pm; Sun 10am–6pm. FREE.
Sydney Flower Markets

Dear Pluto Garden Flea Markets
In Surry Hills, two ex-residents of share house-cum-culture club, Hibernian House, have teamed up to open one-stop vintage clothing shop, Dear Pluto. Glebe Markets
One of Sydney’s favourite outdoor markets has locals browsing second-hand clothing, accessories, books, recordings, arts, crafts, and furniture to the sounds of live music every week. Every Sat, 10am–4pm. FREE.

Flemington Swap and Sell
This is the pick of the pack for a serious fashion bargain. If you hit the market at 2am when stallholders are setting up, you’ll have access to the cream of the pre-loved crop. Every Sat, 2am–2pm. FREE.
