Matched Grants

First published on 1 Feb 2010. Updated on 9 Mar 2010.

City of Sydney's Local Action Plans Matched Grants are designed to support neighbourhood-based groups on a quest to buy materials that fuel the staging of small, soulful art projects that bring the community together.

Project examples could include:

Creation of a large mosaic artwork capturing the spirit of the neighbourhood and its local inhabitants using donated roof tiles from local streets and sites.

Sourcing materials for a 'paint my leterbox' program for local youngsters.

Purchasing materials for a programme of neighbourhood choir concerts.

Formation of neighbourhood social networks such as art appreciation groups, photographic societies, book clubs, writer support groups - each with a regular schedule of meetings, lectures, field trips, exhibitions and performances.

If these ideas have your creative cogs whirring, contact City of Sydney and pitch your idea for a project that involves and inspires your local area and helps residents to meet, greet and create together to bring your Sydney village to life.

    Submissions close 6pm Monday 8 March 2010.
