Cycling is about the journey not the destination. Time Out suggests freewheeling through the urban culture hub of Sydney's inner east and grazing on food, fashion and art on the way...

Belle on wheels
City of Sydney cycling ambassador Nell Schofield offers her tips for chic chicks on the move.
Go for glamour
Lycra is so last century. Wear hotpants in and watch heads turn... Helmet hair? Stash your
favourite product in your pannier. (I love Organix nourishing coconut milk anti-breakage serum.) Gear for girls? Check rocketfuel or spokenspool.
Bicycles look fab with ribbons streaming from handlebars, cute bells and horns and reflective clips on spokes. Even bike baskets can be jazzed up – try popping a flowering pot plant in it for fun. Spokey Dokeys? Check out monkeysee.
Gang up
There’s nothing like riding with a posse of bikie chicks to stake your claim to the road. Link up with your local BUG (bicycle user group) for a social twilight ride and pick up some hot spunks on the way. Find your local BUG.
Win a Potential of Hydrogen bikeA stylish new fixie gets ready to hit Sydney like a hydrogen bomb - and we have one to give away.
As part of Sydney Design 2010 this month, a series of self-guided cycling tours are running around Surry Hills. These innovative bike trails are designed to unleash the artist within, weaving as they do between creative precincts and design hot spots.
Punters will be given bikes, a map, a LOMO camera to document their journey and a “passport” to be stamped by cafés, retailers and designers for future discounts along the way. At journey’s end, cameras are returned so select images can be woven into a rolling photo installation on display during the three-week festival and celebrated in a party and camera auction at the Beresford on Wed 18 Aug.
Bike tours run 7 Aug& 14 Aug, 10am– 4pm from Metalab, 10b Fitzroy Pl, Surry Hills 2010. FREE.
