At the bottom of a tiny, steep laneway is a narrow park that runs around the coast from Rose Bay. Descend the stairs and at the forked path, veer right to the discreet Hermit Bay and, further along, Tingara Beach. Keep on until you reach the 1850s harbourside villa grounds of Strickland House and a dazzling view of the harbour. Swim at Milk Beach or walk to Neilsen Park.
