In a career spanning over 60 years, Ken Whisson has been making thoughtful and uncompromising paintings and drawings which hold a unique place in Australian art. This exhibition traces the evolution of Whisson's major themes and series, and features over 200 landscapes, portraits and sketches from one of Australia's most imporatnt painters.

Renowned for his unique vision and independent style, Whisson’s reputation has been built around his tenacious dedication to the act of painting and persistent fascination with - and singular responses to - the delicate machinations of both his inner world and the world at large. Whisson says: "My paintings have a much better memory than I do for the things I've seen ... a much clearer memory, they seem to remember a lot of things that I don't remember."
