Flying machines, aliens and immigration
Employing, of all things, a wealth of Lego and toy figurines, British-Nigerian artist Yinka Shonibare explores the turbulent history of immigration over the past three centuries in a colourful new exhibition at Anna Schwartz Galelry.
The sculptures, paintings, drawings and large-scale works create a stark contrast between their playful nature and the serious concerns the work addresses.
