The wait is almost over for the Australian final of the prestigious World Class cocktail competition. Hundreds of talented bartenders from around the country entered incredible drinks but only ten can make it to the grand finale.

The World Class food pairing challenge will be held in Sydney at The Star’s mod-Japanese restaurant, Sokyo where each bartender will work to create a cocktail and dish match that ticket toting members of the public will vote for on the night.

Over five scintillating courses, you the diner will have the chance to vote for your favourite cocktail pairing and help decide who will be jetting off to Rio de Janeiro to represent Australia and compete in the World Class Global final in July. Fly the flag for your beloved bartender from your favourite venue!

The finalists are:

1. Philip Gandevia, The Roosevelt - Sydney NSW
2 Fred Siggins, Kodiak Club - Melbourne VIC
3. Perryn Collier, The Laneway - Brisbane QLD
4. Dan Gregory, Black Pearl - Melbourne VIC
5. Angus Burton, Canvas - Brisbane QLD
6. Joel Persson, The Alchemist - Melbourne VIC
7. Callan Green, Lily Blacks - Melbourne VIC (People's choice in the summer round)
