Time Out Sydney

Get into the spirit of World Class Cocktail week with these events around town

World Class Cocktail Week is here again – and we've got the rundown of some of the best events in Sydney celebrating all things shaken, stirred and muddled.

A Roam Around Scotland at Chophouse

Sean Baxter of Johnnie Walker and Classic Malts hosts a five-course dinner held in Chophouse’s private dining room. Your meal will be paired with tastings of single malts from all around bonnie Scotland. (Thu May 28. 6pm. $125 per person. 1300 246 748).

A Bush Tucker Experience in the City at Riley Street Garage

Grab a ‘Garage burger mate – but make sure you chase it with a specially designed World Class Cocktail created by their bartender Alex Grosset. The ‘Les Hiddins Rebellion’ blends native lemon myrtle and lilly pilly with leatherwood honey, Chandon sparkling and Bundaberg small batch rum. (Daily, May 26-30. Noon-5pm. $24.)

The Art of Hand-Chipped Ice Balls at Tokyo Bird

Yoshi Onishi teaches the art of carving ice slabs into drink-friendly, solid ice balls. There’s more to those rocks than you think; their slow-melting quality is ideal for whisky and short cocktails – and you’ll get to enjoy Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve Scotch Whisky over your ice ball at the end of the class. (Mon May 25. 6-7.15pm. $65).
