Fluoro walls, cheesy tomato dip, nachos so spicy they may have been made by the devil himself – plus Mexican beers by the fistful. Yet the most splendiferous thing here is the Margaritas that come by the jug. Oh, happy days.

Madame Fling Flong Newtown
The furniture is crammed in like the inside of an antiques auction, but find the comfy seat at this inner-west treasure (roughly one in five) and you’re set. The Madame’s Margaritas are extremely quaffable and with salt and fresh lime.

Mad MexDarlinghurst
Like a bargain? Eight dollar Margaritas served in sturdy tumblers crusted in rock salt flakes guarantee crowds snaking out the door and onto Crown Street all night every night. 

Zeta BarSydney
They’re pricey cocktails but they’re worth it, particularly their extremely good Margarita which you can either prop on the slick bar or take with you to the balcony overlooking George Street to breathe in the cool Autumn air.

Danks Street DepotWaterloo
The Murray Margarita (so named because the glass has been rimmed with Australia’s own Murray River pink salt) is a bangin’ interpretation of the classic. The cool bar here is the perfect place to drink it.
