Fairfield Showground Prairiewood
The German-Austrian Society will host up to 30, 000 Oktoberfest revellers. There will be folk dancing, smoked fish, and bratwurst galore. German brass band and merry-go-rounds make this one great for families.

Löwenbräu Keller Oktoberfest
Get down to The Rocks and embrace your inner "bierdimpfe" (that's German for ‘tavern potato'). Grab a Hofbräu Haus Goulash with bread dumplings and was it down with a couple of steins, which will come, conveniently, in three sizes: 300ml, 500ml and the full litre.

Bavarian Bier Café - York StreetSydney
Any of their German ‘bier' cafés is a good bet for Oktoberfest. Their usual German fare will be served, and the venue decked out with a live band. Enter the competition their website and you be hosting your own Oktoberfest with 50 of your closest buddies. 24 York St, Sydney 2000. (02 8297 4111 www.bavarianbiercafe.com.au).

UNSW Oktoberfest Kensington
The Roundhouse at UNSW is descended upon annually by thousands, students and non-students alike. Five stages with a cool line-up and six bars is why. I Heart Hiroshima, Deepchild and Purple Sneakers DJs will entertain, amoung others.

Concordia Club Tempe
This little known German club in the inner-west is rumoured to put on quite a feast. They have a great selection of imported beers, and do a ripper of a pork knuckle. Prost to that! . ().
