It’s not a mirage, we assure you. The Lounge Bar at ivy is a beautifully decorated oasis in the screaming maelstrom that is the upper levels of Sydney drinking's Death Star. Drink one of Mikey Enright’s cocktails and sink into a luscious peacock blue lounge and regroup with a Rum Rebellion (Mount Gay X0 rum, vanilla, coconut extract, cherry bitters, lime). There are bar snacks on hand from the next door Sailors Thai and if it’s an emergency, you could always head downstairs to Felix or Ash Street Cellar for something a little more farang friendly. It’s probably the most grown-up bar in the massive ivy complex but it’s still loud, rambunctious and party-centric - certainly not somewhere you’d bring your mum. Unless your mum is 25 and hot. In which case, tell her we said what’s up.
