The Beach Road is one of those pubs that just doesn’t seem to change. Sure, it was expanded a couple of years back to include an extra thousand bars, but you’d still struggle to get a drink on a busy night, and it’s still rammed with local Kiwis and Brazilian backpackers. The very laid-back crowd come here to drink and pick up without a care in the world. Head upstairs to the back bar, where service and a very decent spirits list reign supreme. Wednesdays and Saturdays are the big nights, or anytime a New Zealand team or the Roosters are playing. The food has been better in the past – we’re speaking of the No Names era – but you’ll still get a good range of pub grub for a decent price. Thursdays are $10 pizza and Peroni nights. The live entertainment is another highlight, especially in summer, where this place is the most rocking joint in Bondi most nights of the week.
