Stepping through the sliding doors off of Oxford Street, you'll immediately notice a well provisioned cake and pastry display case that will lead you to question whether you’ve arrived at a café-cum-cocktail lounge or your nana’s front room. Occupying the old Aristotle's café site, the Falcolner has green booth seating, deer murals and friendly, attentive service, making it perfect for a quick drink before a gig, and a perfectly acceptable alternative to making it to your gig at all. Wines are affordable; cocktail-wise, the Beetroot Bloody Mary (with the house-infused beetroot vodka) delivers a hooch-fuelled smack in the face. The Black Knight combines Mount Gay rum with Pedro Ximinez and a lick of fresh citrus – it’s a rich and boozy hit that expertly shaves the edges off a long day. An extensive collection of vinyl will waft over your morning, noon or night; expect Dylan, Bowie, the Stones and you won’t be disappointed.

One of my favourite cafes in Sydney. Good food, great coffee, friendly staff and cosy decor!

Wonderful cocktails, consistently delicious and reasonably priced food, run by lovely people with impeccable taste in music. A long time favourite (and thanks for letting me play amateur DJ, chaps).
