The three Bs are gospel at this little dive bar on Crown Street
The little room above Mr Fox wine bar on Crown Street does three things, and three things only: Beam, beer and blues. They only open on Thursday nights (but if they get their way, there'll be more nights to come in the near future). If you take a framed portrait of your favourite blues musician, you get a free whiskey. We took along a picture of Odetta in a frame made of tongue depressors and black card and they were kind enough to give us a shot (although it was accompanied with a sideways glance). Charlie B's gets a star for the whiskey, a star for the music and a star for the beer. If you're a fan of all three of these things then you've already given it a rave review in your head, like we have. But if standing around in a dark, candlelit room drinking set-ups and listening to a live blues band sounds like hell to you, we'd say drink somewhere else on your Thursday night, mama.
