There’s a strip club next door and brothels galore up the road but Sydney’s cool set keep heading to Melt. With walls covered in murals, booths that invite conspiratorial whispering, shadows galore and a well-tended bar, it’s got attitude up the wazoo. And while there are nights you have to pay a cover charge, Melt is a majestic local haunt. They do all the basics in beer, wine and spirits, but really, you’re going for vibe. And maybe a long, slow smooch in a dark corner.
