Stage a love-in at Cafe Lounge, or just love it. Either way, you need to get involved

An oasis from the chaos of nearby Oxford Street, Café Lounge is aplace where you can prop up the bar in the early evening or hoe into a pizza and a cocktail after the sun has well and truly gone down. Choose an item from the hodge-podge of pre-loved furniture inside or pull up a pew at one of the courtyard tables and sip jugs of Pimms beneath the huge tropical mural that adorns the outdoor wall. The cocktail menu is described in terms of vibe (Dry! Electric! Zesty!) rather than actual ingredients but it gets the message across and the bar staff will happily fill in the blanks. The mix of ginger, lemon, bitters and vodka in the Lazy Boy is a winning combination - they call it a guzzler and they're spot on. Or, if you’ve had one of those days, try the Recliner - an Old Fashioned with a lemon twist that we are assured will blow your head off, or at the very least blow off some steam. Pizza is only $12 bucks a pop and over half the food on offer is vegetarian friendly with a handful of gluten-free options as well. The wines are more economical by the bottle and there are five cocktail jugs on offer so clear your schedule and settle in for more than a flying visit.
