A pleasant stroll under the Bridge
pylons and a left turn off Cumberland
brings you to the fringe of Lower Fort
Street and the busy Harbour View
Hotel. There are tables out front and
a balcony above for brews with a view
and some pretty good mod-Oz cuisine.
I spent a late afternoon at this historic pub, had some lunch that wasn't bad and a schooner of amber ale. While seated I was approached by a drunk elderly man who had been behind the bar helping himself to vodka. He slurred in my face "I own this hotel what do you do". He could hardly stand up ...The staff tried their best to divert his attention but he persisted. I work in hospitality and he was putting his staff in an awkard sitiuation. Outrageous conduct I felt for the staff.
