Fun, but noisy. That’s the best way to describe the London on Paddington’s Underwood Street. The crowd is always cheery, the beer is always cold, the staff know their basic cocktails (that’s all you need here) and the food is great - have pizza in the front bar or the wagyu burger out back in the courtyard. Slinging a beer, sharing a pizza with some friends is a great way to enjoy the front bar at the London, while upstairs it’s about kicking back on lounges (or standing on weekends) with a spirit. The London can get quite loud in the main bar, particularly when sport is on, but once you’re out the back in the garden, it’s mostly calm and offers a great spot for a long lunch with great conversation and a glass of the Benchmark chardy. The London’s as good on a weekend afternoon as any in the area, but try not to get here too late: it can get quite packed quite fast.
