Nothing says school formal like a lilac satin dress, a wilting corsage and a lecherous date.
Prepare to live the dream a second time around with Wrong Prom. Presented by Carriageworks, the series of four events is designed to help you reconnect with all things ever-so-slightly wrong by teaching you the dance steps to legendary sequences from movies of the 70s and 80s.
Expect the songs we all quietly hum the lyrics to, the movies we're embarrassed to remember and the clothes we've tried forget. Last month it was Footloose, but you can still make Dirty Dancing, Saturday Night Fever and Xanadu (bring your own roller skates to that one!).
Hosted by gregarious performer Drew Fairley, of Machine Gun Fellatio fame, with tunes spun by DJ Sveta, these nights are sure to have more facets than a disco ball - so grab a few friends, locate your favourite dance shoes and prepare to get your groove back.
Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin' as these professional dance instructors from Urban Dance Centre teach you the Travolta moves you've always wanted to master from Saturday Night Fever.
