How can we laugh as the world slides into chaos? How can we not? The worst of times is the best of times for a stand-up.

Review: If you saw Jeremy Hotz's show at last year's Sydney Comedy Festival you'd see why we voted him Best International act. And, as it happens, if you saw Jeremy Hotz this time around you'd also see why he was last year's Best International act, since it's exactly the same show. Maybe this is the risk of booking acts on subsequent years, but the Pajama Men were here less than a year ago and managed an entire new show: is it too much to ask one of the ostensible headliners to maybe come up with a few new gags? Sure, the audience interaction was often hilarious but when Hotz settled into his routine the slow realisation that he wasn't recycling the odd joke but regurgitating the entire 2009 show turned the night from a laugh fest to a disappointment. You don't come to Australia that often, Hotz - some new material when you're here isn't that much to ask. Andrew P Street
What punchline have you longed to find a joke for but never quite managed? "...So there I was in bed with a beautiful woman lying on either side of me and I had no idea where my tennis racket was."

If you could call a moratorium on one over-used stand-up premise, what would it be? Midgets.

Bill Hicks or Bill Cosby? Ugh... More bills.

Does your mother approve of your career choice? Haven't told her yet. She still thinks I'm a spy.

What's the one subject that you've never been able to make a joke about? Midgets.

If your comedy was a musical genre, what would it be? Circus music.

Of what comedian would you most like to hear about the mysterious, asteroid-collision-related disappearance? Carrot Top.

Complete: Two men walk into a bar... ...and see a naked women bent over a stool and a duck wearing a red beret ramming her from behind... Uh, I forget the rest.

What do you want to be when you grow up? Peter Pan.

What's the funniest thing about Sydney? That it's clearly named after some guy named Sydney and people are okay with that.

In 30 words or less, explain what your show is about and why everyone should go and see it. You think your life is miserable? Get a load of this guy!
