Review: It's impossible to do this show justice, so I'm just going to paraphrase an old Ned's Atomic Dustbin t-shirt: "did you miss The Pajama Men? Then you fucked up."

Sorry, but it's true. This wasn't just quite possibly the best show of the Sydney Comedy Festival: The Pajama Men – Shenoah Allen and Mark Chavez – are quite possibly the funniest comedians in the world right now. It's hard to explain why, since the term "physical comedy" barely comes close to describing their work. They danced from slick one-liners to intense physical comedy for over an hour, swapping characters with reckless abandon: one minute they're a horse eating an apple, the next a father and daughter on the run and bickering over fast food, then a pair of medieval heroes galloping to save the princess. Their abilities with mime and voice performance are extraordinary, sure; but it's the writing that makes the show (when one character described their sibling as being "half brother... and half sister" my friend almost choked to death). And if there is a person alive who could watch their piece "a man playing chess with a live bat" without gasping for breath, then they are not worthy of being called human. Andrew P Street
