Head to the Hunter for a celebration of Australian film
The Dungog Film Festival, held in a picturesque Hunter Valley town a long way from the rat race, returns in 2012. Based around the beautiful James Theatre, Australia’s oldest cinema, the festival is your chance to rub shoulders with upcoming directors and actors as well as legends. Sessions include new Australian features, documentaries, shorts and music videos as well as industry panels. The programme will be announced on Tuesday June 5; check back soon for Time Out’s guide to the highlights. Tickets and passes are now on sale: early-bird rates on passes and tickets end on June 4. The festival website includes advice on how to get to Dungog (three trains a day depart from Sydney Central) and where to stay in this gorgeous little town.
