Join visionary director Benh Zeitlin and Margaret Pomeranz, at the movies
To celebrate the release of the critically acclaimed Beasts of the Southern Wild, Camera d’Or winning director Benh Zeitlin will attend an exclusive preview screening of his film at the Hayden Orpheum, hosted by ABC’s At the Movies host Margaret Pomeranz.
Zeitlin’s visually amazing debut has drawn comparisons to the work of Terrence Malick. His apocalyptic movie wowed audiences at Sundance in January, winning the Grand Jury Prize, and on Monday August 13 the filmmaker will be speaking to Margaret about his film before opening up the discussion to questions from the audience.
Beasts of the Southern Wild tells the story six-year-old Hushpuppy (Quvenzhane Wallis) and her father, who live in ‘the Bathtub’, a swamp on the far side of the New Orleans levees. Floodwaters are rising, melting glaciers have released savage prehistoric beasts and Hushpuppy is forced to find her own way in the unstable world around her.
Beasts of the Southern Wild is in cinemas from Sep 13.
