Stray Cat Rock: Sex Hunter

First published on 29 May 2012. Updated on 30 May 2012.

The best in Japanese film studio Nikkatsu’s Stray Cat Rock series, Sex Hunter follows the story of Mako (Meiko Kaji), leader of all-girl gang the Alleycats. When Mako forms a relationship with Kazuma, a hafu (mixed-race) looking for his missing sister, she incurs the wrath of her boyfriend Baron, who has a burning hatred of half-breeds. Sex Hunter is a too-cool, stylish and blistering spin on the American western with a timeless anti-racism subtext to boot. Sat Jun 16, 6.30pm. Dendy Opera Quays.
