Beat the crunch - Film

Catch a free movie at the Darlo Bar
Head to the rooftop open-air courtyard and witness cult classics from the 60s and 70s. Catch the pre-show short films and to offset the booze cost, grab some free popcorn.

Be a tight-arse on Tuesday
The Randwick Ritz offers $7 tickets to get you out of the house.

Join Palace Cinemas
The folk at Palace offer a $12 ticket flat rate for members and one buddy, and a complimentary ticket when you join or renew membership. You'll also get a free ticket on your birthday, discounts to film festivals and invites to special events.

Rent a DVDat Woolies
Instead of blockbusting the wallet at up to $7.99 for an overnight release, why not rent a DVD from the local supermarket at $2.99? Instant DVD machines are spread throughout Sydney and they're better than sliced bread (aisle 3).

Get into retro media
We recently purchased five Quentin Tarantino films for less than $10 (total!). You can find audiotapes, videotapes, records and CDs at prices lower than John Travolta's street cred from these purveyors of pre-digital age media:
Ashwood's
Lawson's Records
Revolve Records & Relics
