The Palace-owned Academy Twin Cinema has CLOSED - July 2010. With its facilities in dire need of refurbishment (and a word of warning: don’t go if you’re tall – the seats have very little leg room). One of the city’s longest-running art cinemas, it presents an eclectic mix of foreign, Australian and arty mainstream releases, plus a number of showcases including the Mardi Gras Film Festival.
